Watching stunning sunsets over Lake Tuross was the highlight of a three night stay at Tuross Lakeside Tourist Park.
Our two bedroom spa cabin was located on the edge of the lake and mild winter temperatures in the attractive New South Wales seaside village of Tuross Head resulted in a sunset ritual of wine and snacks on the cabin’s deck.
It proved the perfect way to end days exploring the tourist towns along New South Wales’ south coast.
While the décor of our cabin, described as a ‘luxury spa cabin’ was basic, it provided everything required for a very comfortable and enjoyable stay.

How Did It Rate
Our cabin was extremely clean and well furnished with all the necessities for self-catering including an oven and microwave, dishwasher, large fridge and plenty of kitchen utilities. The bathroom included a large spa bath. The lounge/dining area adjoining the kitchen included a round dinner table and chairs, plus dual couches. Large glass sliding doors offered great lakeside vistas, and effective reverse cycle heating ensured we could enjoy early morning views without getting cold! The main bedroom included a queen size bed and sliding mirrored wardrobe, while the second bedroom had a double bed and a single bunk bed.
The views over the lake. There was plenty to watch during the day and at sunset as the lake was very popular with fishermen, pelicans and other water birds.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
While we didn’t take advantage of any of the facilities outside our cabin, the park seemed to be well set up with a good size outdoor swimming pool and games room.
The park is located on the outskirts of Tuross Head, so if you want to visit the town’s supermarket, shopping facilities, restaurants or the beach you need to drive.
While there are no walking tracks around the lake it’s only a short walk along the main road to Kyla Park, the starting point of Tuross Heads One Tree Point to Coila Lake walking trail.
The park offers a combination of cabins and camping and caravanning sites. While it was very quiet during our stay it could well be a little noisier during warmer months.
The cabin’s shower is located within the spa bath. There are no handrails, so those with limited mobility might struggle to access the shower/spa bath.
