Travels With JB

The Villa Elisa was a noisy but convenient base from which to explore Florence. We chose to stay at the villa as we wanted to combine an Italian villa experience with our exploration of Florence. While the villa was comfortable and Florence was easily accessible via taxi or bus there was quite a bit of noise from the nearby major road.

What: The Villa Elisa

Who: Jo and Norm

Why: On a family holiday with adult daughter Clare. Accommodation purchased via the  website.

How did it rate?

The facilities and space– there was plenty of both especially as there were only three of us staying in the three bedroom, two bathroom villa which also had several lounge and dining areas. It could easily cater for large families. The surrounding grounds were extensive and well kept and included numerous fruit trees.

Great shops within easy walk of the villa including a huge supermarket and several restaurants.

A good bus service from the city of Florence to the villa although we tended to use taxis more. These were quick and efficient and cost between 10 and 15 Euros one way.

Very good value for money.

While we booked the accommodation on line, on arrival we had to pay cash to the property’s manager.

The noise from the road. While we could sleep, the noise was such that it kept our daughter awake.
