Phillip Island’s Silverwater Resort offers very comfortable accommodation with plenty of facilities, especially for families
The only disadvantage is to get to any attractions/ shops etc you do need to drive, as the resort is located on the outskirts of San Remo.
This was my second stay at the resort and I would certainly stay again.
What: Room 324, a one bedroom apartment at Silverwater Resort Phillip Island
Who: JB
Why: Writing a story on Phillip Island
When 11-13 November 2014
How Did It Rate
The décor of the room which is light and airy.
In-room facilities which include a fully equipped kitchen with Fisher and Pykel stove and fridge. There’s also a dining room table, couch, desk, coffee table and two televisions- one in the living room and a smaller one in the bedroom.
The bedroom features a very comfortable bed and built in wardrobes complete with an in room safe. My room also had a washing machine/dryer while the bathroom featured a large shower and a hairdryer.
Two balconies – one overlooked the resort and offered views of the distant sea. The back balcony overlooked the car park and included a barbecue.
Free in room wi fi and some pay television stations.
Resort facilities which include a gymnasium, outdoor and indoor pool with sauna, tennis court, volleyball court and indoors games room. There’s also a children’s playground area which includes a very large and long trampoline.
Although I didn’t use it, the resort has a large restaurant open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There’s also a lounge bar.
Lack of fly wire screens which means you risk the arrival of flies every time you open a door or window.
On my previous stay I had a noisy neighbour who I could hear quite clearly as the one bedroom apartments are joined (and can be combined into a two bedroom apartment). On this occasion the other room was empty and my stay was very quiet.
My room was on the third floor which meant wonderful views but there is no lift and I did have quite a bit of luggage!
As a keen walker there were no obvious walking tracks close to the resort, meaning I had to drive for a beach walk.
