A stay at Peppers The Sands Resort at Torquay provided my mother and I with a restful and very pleasant few days break.
Our stay seemed to coincide with a quiet time at the hotel and as such there were few people around and the staff were extremely attentive (of course they may always be this way!)
Our ground floor rooms were very comfortable and featured a terrace which led to gardens. Sadly the weather was such sitting outside wasn’t an option.
What: Rooms 17 and 19, Studio Garden View Room, Peppers The Sands Resort
Why: A short break with my mother
When: October 17 to 19, 2016
How Did It Rate
While not particularly big, both rooms were clean, comfortable and well furnished. Furniture included a desk, chair and lounge chair. This chair was comfortable and most importantly well-lit allowing for night time reading.
The bathroom was a good size and included a large walk in shower and Appelles amenities.
Free wi fi ,which was very quick.
The resort features a health club, indoor lap pool and tennis courts although I didn’t have the time to them out.
The staff. They were extremely helpful and enthusiastic.
Hanners Restaurant and Bar. The meals were good and the restaurant offered some great views over the golf course.
While neither my mother nor I are golfers the number of players on our final morning suggested The Sands is a popular course! It’s designed by Australian golfing legend Stuart Appleby.
While the location of the hotel is a plus it could also be a negative as there are no other shops or restaurants in walking distance. The resort is around four kilometres from the centre of Torquay.
