The outside of my cabin at Metung Holiday Villas

A stay at Metung Holiday Villas on the scenic Gippsland Lakes in far eastern Victoria provided a restful few days in basic but clean accommodation.

The resort would seem perfect for families and indeed during my stay there were several families obviously enjoying their time at the resort. Picturesque Metung is just over a half-day’s drive from Melbourne.

How Did It Rate?

The dining area

The villa was clean and well maintained. The main living area featured a long couch, table and chairs, television with DVD and some pay television stations.

The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans and other cooking equipment.

The bedroom

A very comfortable bed with crisp linen.

The playground

Good facilities for families including a playground and swimming pool.

A veranda. The view wasn’t that scenic, but several attractive trees proved popular with colorful parrots.

The living room furniture

While the accommodation is described as a ‘villa’, a cabin would probably better reflect the description. The furniture was quite basic.

The resort is located in a residential area of Metung, around a 10 minute walk and a very short drive from the waterfront and Metung’s shops. For those wanting waterfront views this may be a disadvantage but it didn’t worry me as there were plenty of scenic spots around Metung in which to `hang out’ during the day.

No hairdryers although reception did have a spare one it lent me.
